Heucosin special |
Heucosin special pigment preparations have been developed by Heubach specifically for pigmenting floor coatings. They have two important advantages over conventional preparations :-
- Heucosin special reduces the tendency of pigments to float and flood, phenomena which are particularly marked when conventional pigment blends are used because of the thickness of the films, resulting in pronounced texturing or damage to the surface.
- Heucosin special allows the pigment to be distributed homogeneously - even when using nothing more than a simple stirrer, as is usually the case on-site when floor coatings are being applied.
These very specific properties of Heucosin special preparations are the result of a unique process technology. A combined finishing procedure is used in what is known as mulling, which includes both mixing and grinding. The results obtained bring about interlocking of the pigment surfaces, which prevents any later separation, thereby preventing floating and flooding effects. This gives products with outstanding homogeneity which cannot be achieved simply by mixing, enabling the user to create colours which are completely uniform with little dispersion effort.
These products are suitable for the most widely-available binder systems : solvent-free and water-thinnable epoxies (EP), polyurethanes (PU) and polymethyl methacrylates (PMMA). Almost all the colours in the "Heucosin special" range are also available as "Heucosin special plus" equivalents - these have been specially designed for use in water-based systems.
Furthermore, Heucosin special preparations also offer the following properties :-
All the constituents of Heucosin special preparations are non-toxic and comply with the recommendations of the German Federal Office for Health (BGVV IX) relating to colourants for plastics and polymeric consumer articles. Furthermore, they have all been carefully selected to ensure that there are no adverse effects on the properties of the binders.
