Threetex Optical Brightener

iqoptuon JMB is pleased to offer Threetex optical brightener (CI Optical Brightener 184) to the UK plastics industry for use in a wide variety of materials including polyolefins, polystyrenes and PVC.

When a small amount of optical brightener is used, the incident UV radiation is absorbed and re-emitted in the visible blue-violet range, counteracting the yellowish tinge.

The light fastness of Threetex depends on the resin system in which it is used and the loading. On a scale of 1 - 8 (8 being highest), Threetex in HD polyethylene would be rated 2 - 4, in PVC 4 - 7 and in polypropylene 1 - 4.
