Optical Brightener OB

JMB is pleased to offer optical brightener (CI Optical Brightener 184). Optical Brightener OB is a highly purified optical brightener applicable to plastics (such as PS, ABS, PE, PP, PVC), paint and printing ink. 

Plastics can often appear pale orange-yellow in sunlight because of absorption of the blue-violet wavelength radiation by impurities and relatively strong reflection of the orange-yellow range. When a small amount of optical brightener is used, the incident UV radiation is absorbed and re-emitted in the visible blue-violet range, counteracting the yellowish tinge.

The material is supplied in the form of a fine yellow powder with mean particle size around 20 µm.
